I can hardly believe that
almost 3 full years ago Sloane was born.
It has been an absolutely
amazing, challenging and wonderful experience
being her mom. I learn something new from
her each and every day and even though it
doesn't seem possible because my heart is
already so full, my love for her grows even
more. This Sunday we are having a little
birthday party for her and this is the
invitation I made for it:
As you can see, Sloane
L-O-V-E-S to play dress up. She loves to
wear my shoes, or what she calls her princess
shoes and refuses to wear anything but dresses
or dance clothes. The good thing about her
taste in clothes is that it's not a chore to get
her dressed up. The bad thing is that she
had a closet full of clothes she refused to wear
and her bedroom turned into a disaster area.
This is the video of what room looked like
before I cleaned it and removed anything she
won't wear.
It took me a long time, but this is what it
looked like after:
Like most children,
Sloane has trouble pronouncing her "R's" and
because of it we caught this hilarious video of
her trying to tell me I had stinky britches. The
more we laughed, the more wound up she got and
by the time I got the camera out she was really
hamming it up.
A funny story we have
about Sloane comes from the movie Enchanted.
There is a scene towards the end of the movie
when Giselle decided she wants to go to the
ball, but doesn't have anything to wear, so
Morgan takes her dad's credit card and they go
shopping. A few weeks ago, Sloane had
gotten a hold of one of my credit cards and
spent a long time time intently staring at it.
When I asked her what she was doing, she said
"Mom, this is definitely an emergency!"
quoting a line from the movie. I laughed
so hard at her prefect pronunciation and the
very determined look on her face. She was
serious!
